Halcyon 27 - Manufacturers Comment

HALCYON 27 is a high performance cruising yacht - safe, comfortable and easy to handle, yet capable of holding her own in competition with all but out-and-out racing craft. The hull design has the length of keel necessary for great directional stability and produces a pleasant motion in a seaway. With a simple and well-balanced rig the sailing characteristics are good in all winds, and particularly fine in rough weather. The clean deck layout gives the crew plenty of space to work in: visibility from the cockpit is excellent, and the sheets and engine controls are convenient for single-handed sailing. Both the standard Wickstrom petrol engine and the optional diesel alternative are smooth-running, quiet and thoroughly reliable. Either engine takes the boat along at 6 knots approximately.

The robust hull and superstructure, moulded in GRP under Lloyd's approved conditions (Certificate available optional extra) and forms the basis of the Halcyon 27's uniformly strong construction, in which Burma teak and afromosia are used extensively and add great distinction to the boat's attractive appearance.

Below decks extensive use of teak joinery provides a very high standard of lasting finish. Large saloon incorporating galley with cooker 2 burner and grill, saloon table removable for sea-going purposes. Six feet headroom adds to pleasure afloat.
