  AGM 2007

The 2007 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the Greenwich Sailing Club on January 13th, the last Saturday of the London Boat Show

The AGM was attended by 20 members and their partners. Business was conducted in a lively fashion, the business being dealt with in an hour or so.

We were sorry to see our Hon treasurer, John Daly resign. John and Maureen Daly are moving to live in Brittany from where he still hopes to sail his Halcyon 27.

However, the chair was on usual form and soon two members joined the committee, June Jamieson as Hon Treasurer, and Martyn Gleaden as the new Archive member.

The meeting was closed by the presentation of the Cruising cup to Mark Johnson.

Then followed the OYCOA Annual Dinner. The Greenwich Sailing club provided an excellent dinner in a spectacular venue. The dinner was followed by a most interesting by Charles Stock. He talked of his cruises around the Thames Estuary, and up the many rivers that feed the Thames. All this in a 16 foot boat with no engine. The slides were very picturesque, of green river sides, low bridges and the pretty 16 footer with two headsails.

Many thanks to members who attended, and many thanks to Lindsay Jamieson who proposed a vote to Charles Stock and his wife.
